Lavender Steps to Renewal: August’s Organic Foot Experience

With Kelsey | Licensed Manual Therapist, Certified Nutritionist, Energetic Bodyworker at Portland Healing Space

This August, I’m delighted to introduce a deeply nourishing and revitalizing addition to my offerings: a special Organic Herbal Lavender Foot Treatment, available exclusively throughout the month.

Crafted with care and intention, this treatment features lavender harvested from my own herb garden, including French, Spanish, English, and Goodwin varieties — each collected at peak bloom between late June and July. This seasonal blend offers both aromatic beauty and gentle herbal support for the nervous system, making this treatment a perfect reset for late summer.

What’s Included:

The 30-minute session can be added to the beginning of any service you book with me in August.
Each treatment begins with the strategic placement of weighted pillows filled with buckwheat and lavender over your hands and arms. This gentle application serves multiple therapeutic purposes: it calms overactive mental energy, reduces nervous fidgeting or dissociation, and provides a deeply grounding and comforting experience.

The weight and structure of the pillows invite the body into a state of rest and regulation, while the soothing scent of lavender creates a subtle but powerful sense of being held — a grounding effect that enhances body awareness and supports a deeper connection to the present moment.

Next, you'll ease into a warm herbal foot soak, infused with organic lavender, rose petals, apricot oil, and Epsom salts to relax the muscles and soothe the senses. This is followed by a deeply nourishing foot massage, blending Ayurvedic techniques, reflexology, and Amma therapy. I’ll be using my handcrafted lavender–peppermint body butter, made especially for this experience.

To finish, your feet will be wrapped in hot towels for a comforting hydrotherapy effect — warming and softening the tissue, removing excess oils, and amplifying the benefits of the massage.

Finally, I’ll offer a gentle spooning technique to stimulate the nerve endings in your soles — a simple yet powerful practice that supports circulation, tension relief, and endorphin release.

This treatment is a gentle tribute to your body — beginning with the feet, quiet caretakers of our daily lives. It’s an invitation to soften, to come back to yourself, and to be held in stillness.

A Note About Ingredients and Allergies

I’m proud to share that I source all the ingredients in my formulas locally. Despite the name, buckwheat (used in my weighted lavender pillows) is a gluten-free plant seed, not a true grain, and is safe for anyone with allergies or sensitivities to wheat gluten. When it comes to shea butter, while it’s generally unlikely to trigger reactions in people with tree nut allergies, I understand that sensitivities vary. That’s why I also offer a paraben- and nut oil–free lotion option for foot massages.

Just let us know when you book if you’d like to choose this alternative!
