EMILIE BERGER, AHC

Ayurvedic Health Counselor

Emilie Berger is the intuitive heart behind The Holistic Initiative—and now, a nurturing presence within the Portland Healing Space. Her work is grounded in a simple belief: vibrant health should be accessible to everyone.

Most of her life, Emilie wrestled with digestive troubles and persistent anxiety. Despite exploring every imaginable healing modality, true relief eluded her—until she discovered Ayurveda through her Yoga Teacher Training in 2017. Suddenly, the puzzle fell into place: Ayurveda offered a way to understand her symptoms and lifestyle through mind-body alignment. She found not only clarity but practical, life-changing tools that delivered real healing after years of struggle.

What began as a personal rescue mission soon transformed into her life’s calling. Emilie deepened her skills under renowned mentors, including Dr Vasant Lad, herbalist KP Khalsa, Kara Aubin from the Ayurvedic Wellness Center, and Kathryn Templeton through the Himalayan Institute.

With a background in education, Emilie has learnt to convey complex ideas in a clear, practical, and actionable way. Her experience as a yoga and meditation teacher adds another layer, bringing mindfulness, spiritual depth, and somatic awareness to her one-on-one sessions. Together, these experiences allow her to meet each person where they are, balancing grounded practicality with connection to the deeper rhythms of body, mind, and spirit.

Her work today centers on alignment and empowerment, grounded in the belief that vibrant health is possible for everyone when met with personalized, compassionate support. Ayurveda not only brought Emilie physical relief but also gifted her a profound sense of belonging and a deeper connection to something greater than herself. Her intuition gives her insights that often surprise her clients, while her practical side ensures her recommendations are as grounded as they are heartfelt.

When she’s not sharing Ayurveda, Emilie enjoys simple pleasures—fall foliage, spring flowers, flavorful one-pot meals, and the magic of the New Moon. She’s less fond of long-ingredient recipes, hustle culture, or overly fluffy “love and light” messaging that overlooks real-life messiness.

Attune, Regulate, Integrate:
A Self-Acupressure Journey

Emilie is offering a 3-part series this June introducing self-marma — a traditional Ayurvedic practice that uses gentle touch on specific points of the body to support health, encourage energy flow, and ease tension.

Each session builds on the last, guiding you through a progressive, accessible practice you can bring into daily life. Whether you're new to body-based healing or already familiar with it, you'll leave with a personal self-care ritual rooted in Ayurvedic wisdom and your own body's intelligence.

Mondays June 15, 22 & 29 · 6–8 pm · Garden Suite · 6 spots available

Offerings

Ayurveda works by addressing the root cause of symptoms — not just the surface discomforts — which is why it’s so effective as a holistic system. By focusing on the deeper imbalances behind your health concerns, we not only reduce symptoms now, but also help prevent them from returning or lessen their intensity if they do.

Rather than treating isolated issues, we look at your system as a whole —your environment, your daily rhythms, your relationships, even your genetic tendencies. Everything in your life is connected, and Ayurveda offers a complete and deeply personalized way to restore balance and vitality.

I’ll craft a wellness plan tailored to your unique constitution and current needs, so the support you receive feels nourishing, doable, and aligned with your life. Expect a variety of options including food guidance, lifestyle and self care suggestions, herbal support, and recommendations around energy management through activities, yoga, breathwork, etc.

My goal isn’t just to support your healing—it’s also to empower you. Through our work together, you’ll gain tools and understanding to care for yourself in a way that’s sustainable, intuitive, and rooted in who you are.
