Inspiration and Encouragement with Craniosacral Therapy
Dear Portland Healing Space Community,
Today, I want to share a few thoughts on Craniosacral Therapy (CST) in our newsletter based on my personal experience.
While you can find plenty of technical information about CST online, I believe that speaking from my heart as both a practitioner and a patient offers a different kind of insight—one that might resonate with you on a deeper level.
Last week, I took a lovely day trip to The Gorge to visit the breathtaking Horsetail Falls. Many of you may know this beautiful spot. As I stood there, watching the water hypnotically cascade down the cliffs into the serene turquoise pool below, it struck me how this movement mirrored the flow of cerebral spinal fluid in our bodies, nourishing every part of us—just like the countless tributaries that feed the falls.
CST can address a variety of issues, including concussions, trauma, chronic pain, migraine headaches, and even emotional or creative blocks. However, it’s crucial to understand that you don’t need to be dealing with these specific conditions to deserve a session. It’s completely valid to want to feel good in your body, to relieve stress, and to carve out time just for yourself.
We live in a fast-paced world filled with complexities that can often feel overwhelming. Receiving bodywork is not just beneficial; it’s a simple yet profound way to care for your body and offer kindness to your mind and heart.
What is restorative is indeed productive. Quality rest and caring for ourselves gently are invaluable practices.
If you feel the need to nurture yourself, experience comfort in your body, or simply find a way to counterbalance the stress of daily life, please know that seeking gentle, hands-on bodywork is more than enough reason to reach out.
I, along with several outstanding practitioners, am here to support you on your journey and help facilitate your connection with your healing inner wisdom.
Warmly,
Kelsey Crawford McIntosh, LMT, CN
