Join us for a fun evening on Wednesday November 30th from 6:30-8:30 at Portland Healing Space. We'll make herbal oils and salves, enjoy community, celebrate the season and learn the power of herbs and food as medicine. This is part of our ongoing series, Wise Medicine Evenings, held monthly at Portland Healing Space. If you'd like to learn more about last month's Fire Cider Party, please visit our blog.
Herbal oils and salves are easy medicines to make at home, and can be used for the prevention and treatment of common aches and pains, cuts, scratches, stings, bruises, rashes, dry skin, and more. These oils and salves can also be used to make your own face and body care lotions as well.
Together in class we will learn how to make a safe and effective infused oil from fresh or dried plants and then turn that oil into a basic herbal salve. Each person will leave with several homemade salves to take home. As we head into the holidays, this can be a great gift to share with others. This class will be fun, hands on and experiential. Come alone or bring a friend! Class size will be limited to 15.
The class fee is $25 and ingredients will be provided. The price of class includes the following ingredients and supplies: organic herbs, organic olive oil, beeswax, vitamin E oil, essential oils, containers for salves and oils. Register for this class on Eventbrite.
The evening will be led by PHS owner, acupuncturist and holistic pelvic care™ practitioner, Danielle Lombardi, who is also a trained herbalist in Chinese medicine. In Chinese medicine, herbalism is one of the five branches of medicine. Danielle works with many Chinese herbal formulas in her practice, but also loves to forage in her local Pacific Northwest forests and harvest plants that she can process into medicine for her patients.
